genU Training strives to make course fees inclusive and competitive.

Quality learning is important to everyone in our community no matter their circumstances or abilities. We work with individuals, employment agencies and groups to identify state and federal government funding opportunities to minimise training costs.

Fee types

genU Training has three fee levels. The fee you pay depends on whether you qualify for government subsidies.

Standard

Reduced standard fees apply to students who are eligible for government-funded training under the Skills First Program.

Concession

A concession fee of 20 per cent of the standard charge may be available to students with a current:

  • Commonwealth Health Care Card
  • Pensioner Concession Card
  • Veterans Affairs Gold Card
  • or to those who a dependent on one of the above cardholders.

You must provide a copy of the card at enrolment.

Concession fees apply to cardholders for government-subsidised training places in courses below diploma level and for training at any level, including diploma and above, for indigenous students.

Full fee

Full fees are applicable to students who a not eligible for a government subsidy.

Payment of fees

If you experience difficulty meeting your payment schedules please request a meeting with the course coordinator to negotiate a payment plan.

Short course (less than 2 weeks' long)

Individuals

  • For courses:
    • under $1,500 - full payment required at the time of enrolment.
    • over $1,500 - a $1,500 deposit is required at enrolment with the remaining fees due on course completion.

Groups

Full payment is due prior to course commencement regardless of cost for organisation bookings.

Long courses (more than 2 weeks)

  • For courses:
    • $100 or less - full payment required at the time of enrolment
    • over $100 - a minimum $100 deposit or 10 per cent of the total course fee (whichever is greater) is due on enrolment up to a maximum of $1,500. Remaining fees must be paid through regular instalments over the length of the course as negotiated on a direct debit payment plan. genU Training can collect no more than $1,500 in advance.

Refunds

Apply for a refund by putting your request in writing to the course coordinator or training manager. Refunds are not automatic.

Please allow 30 days for genU Training to process a refund.

Please see your course coordinator for a detailed description of refunds and timeframes.

Refund conditions

Short courses (less than 2 weeks' long)

  • Where a learner notifies genU Training of their intention to withdraw from a course
    • more than seven days prior to the course starting date - genU Training will refund all fees less any material costs (where provided)
    • between one and seven days prior to the course starring date or one or after the course starting date - no refund is available, full course fees are payable.

Long courses (more than 2 weeks)

  • Where a learner notifies genU Training of their intention to withdraw from a course:
    • more than 14 days prior to the course starting date - genU Training will refund all fees less any material costs (where provided)
    • between one and 14 days prior to the course starting date - genU Training will refund all fees less a $100 administration fee and any material costs (where provided)
    • on or after the course starting date - genU Training will refund all fees less:
      • a $100 administration fee
      • any material costs (where provided)
      • a pro rata tuition fee based on commenced units. The pro-rata Tuition fee is calculated by multiplying the total nominal hours of the commenced unit/s by the hourly rate applicable on the learners' statement of fees.
